چکیده

Introduction: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is the most common entrapment mononeuropathy and can affect patients' daily living activities. In this study, it was aimed to find out whether there a relationship between fatigue, neuropathic pain neurophysiological features in CTS.
Material Method: Patients with clinical compatible CTS were included retrospective study. Median nerve compound muscle action potential (CMAP) (CNAP) of patients analyzed. The Turkish version Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS) administered all patients. mean FSS score ≥4 considered have fatigue. addition, Leeds Assessment Neuropathic Symptoms Signs (LANSS) applied some If LANSS 12 or higher, these pain.
Results: Thirty-two female eight male had clinically bilateral right-sided CTS. 40 18 patients, respectively. There 29 (72.5%) an ≥ 4. CNAP/CMAP amplitudes sensory/motor conduction velocities fatigue lower than those without (p

The relationship between electrodiagnostic severity and Washington Neuropathic Pain Scale in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome.

OBJECTIVES We undertook this study to examine the relationships between clinical symptoms as evaluated by Washington Neuropathic Pain Scale (NPS) and electrodiagnostic classification in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). METHODS Eighty patients with unilateral CTS were included in this study. After diagnosis of CTS by electromyography, all patients completed a 10-item questionnaire (...

The Effect of Carpal Tunnel Release on Neuropathic Pain in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

PURPOSE The aim of this study was to determine the risk factors of neuropathic pain (NP) in the patient with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) before and after the carpal tunnel release. MATERIALS AND METHODS One hundred and two CTS patients were enrolled in the study. The pain score was measured by the visual analogue score. NP was determined by the painDETECT (PD) questionnaire. All subjects wer...

Relationship between electrodiagnostic severity and neuropathic pain assessed by the LANSS pain scale in carpal tunnel syndrome

OBJECTIVE The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship between the presence of neuropathic pain assessed by the Leeds Assessment of Neuropathic Symptoms and Signs (LANSS) scale and electrophysiological findings in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). METHODS We studied 124 hands with idiopathic CTS with pain complaints involving hand and wrist. All hands were assessed by th...

The Relationship between Nerve Conduction Studies and Electromyography Findings in Patients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Background: Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common neuropathy in the general population. Nerve conduction studies are among the standard methods for diagnosing carpal tunnel syndrome. Electromyography is painful and unpleasant, and if nerve conduction studies can be used to diagnose axonal injury in carpal tunnel syndrome, electromyography might be replaced. Objectives: This study aimed t...

Carpal tunnel syndrome despite negative neurophysiological studies.

The purpose of the present study was to compare the results of conservative and operative treatment for patients with carpal tunnel syndrome having normal neurophysiological studies. We studied 125 patients with normal neurophysiological studies and analysed eight symptoms and signs as "prognostic factors". Ninety-six patients were treated conservatively (splintage, steroid injection, antiinfla...
